When Selecting Raspberries & Blackberries look for a nice vibrant appearance. Blackberries will have a shiny surface and Raspberries will have a plump full appearance. With both berries a sign of juiciness means age. Raspberries, Blackberries Boysenberries, Olallieberries and most vine berries should be purchased and consumed immediately. They are highly perishable.
At home store them in a paper bag with a paper towel folded up to fit into the bottom of the bag to absorb excess moisture. Use them within a day or two – don’t try to stretch it, they won’t hold up.
