A sweet tart apple that is crisp and juicy. This apple stores very well in the refrigerator and becomes even sweeter with time. A cross between a Golden Delicious and Australian variety Lady Williams. It originated in Australia and is now Grown in California and Washington.
Select Apples that are firm – no soft spots or wrinkles. Mild surface blemishes are okay if there are no soft spots under them.
Some blemishes occur while the apple is still on the tree as the limbs of the tree rub against the apple under windy conditions. This may not be eye appealing, but the apple is just fine. Some stores will sell limb rubbed apples at a very cheap price and if the apple is firm, it’s fine.
